‘Yeah, I like the beans but gimme some more carrots otherwise I’ll have your hat!’

Feeding Elephants at Borobudur Temple

The highlight of the Westlife Asia tour for me was feeding these guys at Borobudur Temple, Indonesia. What a place!

Westlife’s gig in Jogyakata was held in the fabulous grounds of the temple with an outdoor stage and a stunning backdrop.

I saw the elephant house on our first trip to the temple for a site visit and a chat with the local team. it became my goal to visit the elephant house, little did I know you could feed them too!

After three days of show build, I finally managed to slip away for half an hour to visit them. The equivalent to £2 for a basket of delicious veggies and willing elephant. Brilliant!

Mark and I also managed a saunter up to the temple, the largest Buddhist temple, built in the 9th century, consisting of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome.
