VISITING THE LANGKAWI SKYBRIDGE, MALAYSIA

“Your options are, fly home for 4 days, or fly to Langkawi Island and chill out for 5!”

Langkawi Skybridge, Malaysia

Given the option, what would you do?

Westlife’s gig in Kuala Lumpa was 8 Days after the Manilla show, so instead of flying home, Mark and I flew to Langkawi for a few days R & R. With production covering the cost of our hotel, it made for a nice cheap holiday.

When we arrived it was raining, raining like I’ve never seen before, I thought we’d made a mistake, but by the time we checked into our rooms, it had stopped and we had 5 days of brilliant sunshine.

Day 1 was spent on the beach sampling the delights of the hotel bar, day 2 we decided to rent some scooters and explore the island, with a plan to visit the Skybridge.

The scooters were a laugh, and the Skybridge just amazing.

Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia, completed in 2005. The bridge deck is located 660 metres above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang on Pulau Langkawi, the main island of the Langkawi archipelago in Kedah.

The Langkawi Sky Bridge can be reached by first taking the Langkawi Cable Car to the top station, where an inclined lift called SkyGlide takes visitors from the top station to the bridge.
